Life is Throwing Curve Balls Again

Buddy's potty training s going really well.  I put a bell on the backdoor so he could ring it when he needs to go out.  He is not quite there yet, but it is close.  He comes and puts his front paws on my chair when he needs to go out, and then when we get to the backdoor he rings the bell.  Close, but not quite.  :)  Now that he has his shots, I can take him on walks again, so last night I set the yard to watering, took 3 tylenol and put on my ankle brace and then we went for a walk around the block.  I am trying to train him not to pull on the leash, but I think i am going to have to get a gentle trainer to walk him.  I know he is young and will learn, but in the meantime with my ankle, I cannot have him pulling like that.  We came upon a family sitting on the driveway during the walk and the kids came running to pet him, which was fine.  I guess I still on't know the dog walking etiquette, because they had a dog outside not on a leash and the man (I guess the Dad) kept looking at me as though I was doing something wrong.  I can only think that I should have asked him if it was OK for the kids to pet Buddy, since he is still in that mouthing people's hands phase, but I am not sure.  I am googling the etiquette for meeting another dog on a walk too, since i am just not sure.  The vet also diagnosed him with allergies, so he has to talk 1 1/2 Benadryl every day.  His antibiotic treatment goes well, but he is not transitioning to the German Shepherd puppy food as well as I would like.  I don't think he likes it much, but I hide treats under the food and he will eat it to get to the treats.  :) He crawled up in my lap this morning for a snuggle....it was very sweet.  He is already getting too big to climb into my lap, but as long as he can do it and I can stand it, I am going to let him continue.  I enjoy snuggling with the big Goober.  :)

*sigh*  I guess I better sign off and get to work, TTFN!
