Animals--Adventure or blessing?

Yep, the critters are at it again.  Here are some of their latest adventures:

July 7 2013:  Left Buddy at Mom & Dad's while I took my nephew out to the water park.  We get home and Buddy is sitting at the front door just waiting.  I think, "How cute!" and suddenly he is bouncing up and down.  I pause, and suddenly he is gone.  As I walk in I hear Buddy barking at Mom in the sun room as if to say, "They're home! They're home!  Come on!  They're home!."  Laughed myself silly.  I kept thinking of Lassie barking out to let the parents know Timmy fell down a well or something.

July 27 2013:  Buddy decided to curl up in my lap on the setee part of the sectional. Perky seemed somewhat upset about this, perhaps it was because he crawled across her to get to my lap and then tooted in her face as he settled down. She smacked his butt, yowled at him, and then went and sat on the back of the couch glaring at him. Buddy, seemed unconcerned, he took a nap.....I really do love my animals sometimes.

July 31, 2013:  This week's cat debacle has been brought to you by the letter E for Essa. I started out the week hunting for my little kitty named Essa. I look on the back porch and lo and behold, I find a cat sized hole in the TOP of the screen door. Open the door and Buddy quickly runs to show me exactly where little Miss Essa has gotten to, hiding in the Lilac bush. A merry chase around the yard and back i...n the house she goes while I try to figure out how to fix the door. One power drill and 15 small screws later, and I am oh so very proud of my handy work. Fast forward 12 hours, same scenario, same hole in the top of the door, but the other side this time. Buddy hunts her, I catch her, and out come the power tools for the next repair. 12 more hours and we start our little circle back over again, only this time Essa has absconded with Perky and they are both sitting on my neighbors fence looking at me---I swear I heard one of them snicker--it was probably Perky, she is the obnoxious one after all. This time I break out some wood trim to secure the screen thinking I am oh so brilliant. 12 hours later--not soo much. Wood trim now secured on the other side of the door, and within an hour I see Essa climbing the screen. Since I had the hose in my hand.....one soaked kitty who is monumentally hacked at me, but I think my repairs are safe. Silly me. I am now out of wood trim and the right size screws, but oh, look, I have a paint stirrer and some screws that are only a half inch too long. This evening I discover that all my repairs have warped the dang door so Essa has squeezed out of the warped area at the top of the door and is again sitting under the Lilac ignoring Buddy and circling the lilac and I am now saying her name as a cuss word. Fetch a couple of new latches from the garage, and I will be posting a new picture of the illustrious door so you can see my handy work. I have just finished purchasing PetScreen (25 feet of it since I know my cat), a Stanley Heavy Duty Stapler, and will be putting the final repairs to my sad little door this weekend. The next solution: Steel Door with Titanium hinges secured with Duct tape----that oughta fix it! Dang cat.  BTW Did I mention that a soaked cat's next thought is "How I get even?" The next action is to wait until the human is not paying attention, walk thru dirt with your soaked self, track mud all over the nice clean wood floors and then snuggle as close to the human as possible until you are dry, then ignore her. Love you too, Essa.
