OK, so I was just looking and discovered it had been a while since I posted. To catch up, In April I had to put my cat, Lemur, to sleep. I miss her. On May 24th I was in a rather bad car accident that has resulted in me being in Physical Therapy for my knee and waiting to see a specialist next month to see if he can fix my foot. I am at work, so at least I am not bored.
So, that is us, all caught up. Now, on to more fun and humorous things: BUDDY STORIES!
Today: Buddy has LOST his ever loving MIND! Middle of the night I am dead
asleep until a cat jump on my chest followed swiftly by a 70 lb dog
slamming into my knee----the one that is still healing. Needless to say
that while that big a dog does not achieve flight the way a cat does, he
got really really close. Buddy landed two feet away looking
ridiculously contrite and the cat (Millie) landed on the floor a good
five feet away looking hacked off, of course. Dang dog. He has GOT to
quit chasing the cats!!!!
June 25th: More of a Perky story: woke up, got out of bed. Dragged a comb across my head.....this song is
stuck in my head and found 3 dead birds at the back door and one at the
front door....I then spied with my little eye a very satisfied looking
Perky sitting on the dog house in the backyard fastidiously washing her
paws. I couldn't decide between ewwww, good kitty, what the heck are you
doing outside and the all time favorite, how the heck did you get
outside????
June 2, 2012: I will never figure out why my animals are mean to me some mornings.
Buddy used his destructo tail to clear the coffee table--yes, the one my
coffee was one---when he got distracted by Millie walking until Buddy
saw her and then taking off running so he chased her a few steps till I
yelled at him to stop. Bringing Buddy back in from piddle time and
Perky winds her way through Buddy's legs and then
in front of mine. I try to move away from her only to discover Buddy
was sniffing Perky's butt and is in the way causing more staggering and
tying to catch my balance (which is already precarious). I swear Perky
smirked when I yelled at them. Winky and Andy are the only two nice
animals in the house today....but give them time....
May 26th: My remote control is waaaaaaayyyyyy over on the other side of the
couch. Told Buddy to fetch it, he brought me a toy to throw. Told Perky
to get it, she meowed loudly in my ear, bopped me on the nose with her
tail and then curled up next to it while purring. My animals are mean.
:)
May 5th: I am ready to chunk something at the animals. their idea of sleeping late is
to wait until 7:15 a.m. and then start a fight right next to me sleeping
head. I did realize that if those cats ever get organized, Buddy and I
are in big trouble. :)
April 25th, 2012: Always interesting at my house. Go to feed the animals and discover
houdini, aka Perky, is MIA. Find her on the neighbors roof, can't coax
her down. So at 6:30 a.m. I am getting out my 8 ft ladder to fetch her.
The fun part is when she gets all shirty with me after I drag her off
the roof so she snuggled up to BUDDY. Attitude in a fur coat, is my
Perky.
April 20th, 2012: Hahahahahahaha......was sitting here doing some work and heard Buddy
doing his "I'm gonna catch this thing" bark. I called him, nothing. I
go to the hallway and call him, he runs out of the guest room whining
and looking pathetic. He stares at me a moment then runs back in and
starts doing his talking bark.......at the bed. I start thinking I might
need to find a doggy psychologist when he decides
to pounce (yes, my 60 lb dog pounces, I swear the cats are teaching him
bad things while I sleep) the corner of the bedspread. About that
time I hear the bed start hissing. Now unless my bed has come to life, I
am guessing he has penned on of the cats under the covers since there
is a lump in the middle of the bed. He runs around the edge of the bed a
few times while I sip my coffee and watch the show. Suddenly Buddy
stops and again pounces, this time onto the part of the spread that lies
on the floor. I now admit to snorting my coffee when the bedspread comes
to life and a paw reaches out from under to swipe at him. Apparently
one of the cats is under the bed and she and Buddy were enjoying a round
of playing. I just love my animals.
March 2nd, 2012: I am sitting in my chair with Buddy asleep at my feet. I hear a cat
fight on the porch--it doesn't happen very often, but Lemur and Andy are
getting old and crotchety, so occasionally one of the younger ones gets
them a little too riled up. Buddy hears it, leaps up and takes off for
the porch with me right behind---one of those yowls was NOT a familiar
voice. I get there in time to see Perky
hissing and spitting as she moves away from the screen door and watch
Buddy hit the door growling. I check out the back yard and see a black
blur moving over the back fence, and decide that I better let Buddy out
before he destroys the door. I open it and he is nose to the ground,
growling and tracking the smell of the cat that dared come into his yard
and mess with his Perky. He tracked that scent all over the yard and
then moved back and forth across the back fence growling and chuffing at
the ground and the fence, with Perky watching carefully from her perch
on the wall of the back porch. I am guessing now that they must have
become friends, because when I let him back in, the first thing he did
was find Perky, smell her up one side and down the other and then try to
wash her head....
Have a blessed day, everyone!!!
